Shopping in Delhi

Delhi has many markets, and I have been to all of them at one time or the other.

I remember my first time to the famous Sarojini Nagar Market near the R K Puram area. It was a warm summer day and I had gone there with my mother, I was just eight years old.

Suddenly I came upon this mass of humanity all swarming around trying to buy, sell, bargain. It was overwhelming, but also fascinating.

I saw the roadside sellers with clothes heaped up high, I saw the raised part of the market , the 'Babu Market', and the people. All kinds of people from stylish ladies in chiffon sarees to youngsters in jeans.

I spent several hours int he market holding on tight to my mother's hands. It was a fantastic journey indeed.

Here is a picture of Sarojini Nagar market:

Do go there if you get a chance. It is still as vibrant and amazing at it was so many years back. And best of all it has some of the lowest prices amongst all the major markets of Delhi.
